Detroit Sunset

Today is a bittersweet day for me.  It’s with both excitement for the future and more than a healthy pang of sadness that I’m making the final push to inbox zero as I get ready to move on from Techstars.

What an amazing network this is. Thank you to the colleagues, founders, investors, and corporate partners friends who’ve been on this journey with me. As I shared in my last post on having an impact, we’ve created new opportunities for hundreds of startup founders to connect with best-in-class industry leaders across sectors like fintech, healthcare, mobility, retail, media, robotics, and seriously cool ones still in the works. I’ve also worn out a few whiteboard markers digging in deep as a mentor with some amazingly driven founders through Techstars Mobility and Startup Next Detroit. This work has allowed me to go deep here in Detroit and broad by engaging with entrepreneurial ecosystems around the world. How cool is that?!

So what’s next? While I can’t yet go into the details of where I’m headed, I can tell you that my new role will be doing what I love most: building technology that is the future of mobility. (And spoiler alert, I’m staying here in Detroit.) I look forward to sharing more in just over a month’s time.

Until then, I’m going to take a bit of downtime to get in some spring bicycling, catch up on reading, sample ancient winemaking technique in Georgia and Armenia, and figure out how to ride my new Vespa. I’ll also be recording future episodes of the Bonfires on the Move podcast, scoping a MVP for the Detroit youth transit app project, and organizing the civic innovation track for Detroit Startup Week in May.

  1. Jessica – Wow! I want to be like you when I grow up. So…glad you’re staying in D. Would love to bike/chat later this spring.

    Onward and Upward!
